My clients are adult individuals struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, and chronic stress. They often seek therapy because they feel trapped by high standards and perfectionism, and long to live with more freedom and joy. They berate themselves for not being good enough and find it difficult to connect vulnerably with others. Through therapy, my clients learn to understand and accept their feelings, prioritize self-care without guilt, and heal old wounds. They become free to be their authentic selves and live a life aligned with their values.

I utilize a person-centered approach to meet my clients with warmth and compassion, while incorporating DBT, EMDR, and IFS therapy techniques. I am available for in-person sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and virtual sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 AM to 5 PM. For information about insurance and fees, please visit my website saraahmedcounseling.com or contact me at sara@saraahmedcounseling.com.

I provide counseling and coaching to female teens and adults living with depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, relationship problems, self-esteem issues, major life transitions and maladaptive coping.

My philosophy is that mental health and physical health are irrevocably connected—poor mental health can lead to poor physical health and harmful behaviors. Depression has been linked to many chronic illnesses. I take a holistic approach to therapy and discuss physical health/fitness and nutrition; emotional resilience; positive social connections; intellectual stimulation and spiritual fulfilment.

It’s hard to live life to the fullest sometimes when we get stuck in our thinking, feel overwhelmed and become our own worst enemy. I strive to make sure my clients have the information and tools they need to improve their quality of life by employing a variety of interventions and techniques—and sometimes even humor!

I am a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider. I also employ hypnotherapy where appropriate. I am ready to get started when you are.

I specialize in working with couples who are dealing with issues such as:

  • Trust and intimacy
  • Communication and conflict resolution

I use evidence-based approaches such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Method, and Imago Relationship Therapy to help you and your partner understand each other better, heal from past hurts, and create a stronger bond.
